God really worked with the people of God back in the days. I remember as a youngster while living in, Pleasantville N. J. I was reared by Aunt Jessie, Aunt Leila and Aunt Amy. They would always talk about the goodness of the Lord. How back in the day the Saints of Old used to dance before the Lord, the church was so old and cold in the winter time, while they were shouting and magnifying God the planks in the old church would come out the floor, they would dance around the old wood heater, God magnified Himself, and no one was ever hurt or burnt. The sick and impotent folk were healed in a Great Way. One day my cousin fell deadly sick and the saints came to the house and prayed until there was smoke in the room. I kid you not.
Read John 5:1-9 I always loved this story because it's so true today if the be livers would really seek the Lord. John 5:3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. V-4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. V-5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. V-6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he said unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
V-7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool:
but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
V-8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And Immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked. One simple instruction " Rise, take up thy bed and walk" the man obeyed and was healed. I believe the bible.
That was in the days before we had much as we have now. The people of God worked and went to church. The baptism of the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) would come upon the young folk that tarried around the altar. We would speak in tongue as they did in Acts 2:1-4.
1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting
3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Folk are not waiting on the Lord to fill them these days, the reason I know is because many are speaking the same few words (that's supposed to be tongues from on high) they were taught or heard someone else say. In real Holy Ghost filled churches you know the difference. What they fail to realize is that everyone don't speak in tongues all the time. Some folk only speak in tongue only once and that's when God initially fill them with his spirit. Some God uses to edify him, and they speak more often. The God given tongues do not all sound alike.
During the time in the 1970 when I was introduced to God the young folk served God in a mighty way, just like they did on the Day of Pentecost. We had a lot of teenagers in our church, back then who were really Filled with God's Holy Ghost from on high. We also had tiny tots (small children) that was Baptized with God's spirit also.
Folk did not have to wait so long to be healed, the Elders would go to your house and pray until God sent his glory down from on high. I mean really pray.
In the late 1970's is when the church was making a change. People got tired waiting on the Holy Ghost to come down from on high. We don't tarry around the altar anymore. A lot of the TrueBelivers have passed away, the ones that's left are in their 70's and 80's. Now the young folk are running the churches. I am glad I was introduced to Christ before it came to this day. By the 1980's the church had really made a change.
Church is really a big business these days, preaching for the money and not the soul. I remember when preachers worked to take care of their families and ran the church, they also worked until they retired. Thank God I still know a few of those old Preachers today are still alive.
It was really bad in the south back in the day for God's people, I head the older generation tell of how they would walk miles to church and back home. How the preacher was the only one that had a car back then, but the church would be full. How they used to hide behind trees when going to church because of their race.
I love to read about the Azusa Street Revival how the people of God seeked him with their whole
hearts. Please click on link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azusa_Street_Revival. Also Bishop C. H. Mason the founder of the Churches of God In Christ. Please click on link
http://eastsidecommcogic.tripod.com/id1.html along with other pioneers of that time. Quite a few churches came from under the umbrella of COGIC.
I can't forget how God worked through Bishop G. E. Patterson before his death March 20, 2007. God worked through Bishop Patterson to get his people ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
God also used Martin Luther
http://www.greatsite.com/timeline-english-bible-history/martin-luther.html.
I only mentioned a few great men of God.
We all have a work to do. It's working and praying time. My Aunt Jessie still tells me today what she told me almost forty years ago To Watch and Pray, her Mother Aunt Leila always told her that same thing. This is what I tell my daughter watch and pray, that ye enter not into the arms of the preditor: the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Yes, Aunt Jessie is still alive today she just turned 82. In this modern day she is still an inspiration to me and many others.
I can't wait to hear your experiences, please leave a comment...

Are You Letting God's Blessings Pass You By?
God showed me today that on October 4, 2008 where He wanted to bless me but, I let that blessing pass me by because the night before I allowed the devil to take me into a series of depression. Again on November 9, 2008 another blessing and again I let the devil take over my thinking and I missed another blessing. The oppressor made me look at the physical things what was going on in my life. I prayed the whole year of 2008 and allowed the devil to overtake my mind by looking at the negative things and another blessing slipped by again. This was all my doing because at the end I did let the spirit of darkness overtake my thoughts and focused on the negative that came against me. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV).
As I thought on the blessings I missed on last year, the thought came to mind that early September our Pastor started teaching on the Jewish Holidays he asked us to go on a 21 day Daniel Fast which started on September 20, 2009 and will end on October 11,2009 to that He started teaching about The Feast of the Lord, which led to The Jewish Holidays and Harvest times. Our revival will start on October 11, 2009. I don't want to mislead anyone so here's a link
http://biblicalholidays.com/tabernacles.htm The Jewish Holiday calendar.
This is the first time I have heard a teaching in such detail as this one on the Jewish Holy days and their calendar. It may be old Testament but the Whole Bible is God's word and it's the Highway which we must follow as the people of God. The scriptures are also listed on the calendar as proof which line up with God's word. Right now we are in a very sensitive time of the troubling of the water or the moving of God's Holy Spirit, which is why it's best to be obedient to the Lord, so we may reap the Harvest That He has for us.
The reason for this post is because God laid it on my heart a few months ago, but I did kept asking myself who am I to Blog about God? There are Holy Ghost filled highly educated people of God who can write circles around me. As you can see the first blog I posted was somewhere around February 2, 2009, and I haven't posted anything since.
Well, Moses had the same problem, he didn't think he was good enough Exodus 4:10 KJV Moses said unto the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
Some time ago I kept hearing the Holy Spirit say "Review" after wards I am still hearing the same thing which has been going on for about the last eight weeks. This is one assignment that I have to complete.
Please leave your comments, I am interested to know what others have to say:
What actions has God led you to do, and you have not obeyed.? Here's another one God kept reminding me of.
I Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
We can take a lot out that verse but the most important assignment is to Obey God.

HOW TO STAND ON FAITH IN TIMES OF TROUBLE
We are living in times that we have to stand on FAITH for many things. Hebrews 11:1 Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:2 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Hebrews 11:2 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (KJV)
Sometimes when life gets really tough and the only thing our poor weary eyes can see is darkness, we have to speak FAITH so those things can appear. It may not happen over night but we have to stand on God's word to KNOW, with God's help every thing will work out for us. We have to stay focused on God and believe the Bible which is the highway.
Isaiah 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. (KJV). Remember God is always with us, He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (KJV)
To stand on FAITH in our dark hours, means to believe God's word regardless of how the situation may look. Remember Romans 8:28
All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. (KJV) Please feel free to leave a comment or send an email..
